As a personal note:  I have been in the garage door profession since 1972.  Taking a look back over all the years, I never would have imagined things to be what they are.  When I started in the “door business”, I was a mere 22 years old.  Back then a truck cost about $1800.00 and fuel for it was about .35 a gallon.  Much has changed in the world and in my life since those days.

I was raised on a farm, as was my father and his father before him.  Shortly after I was married back in 1969, I too bought a farm.  I worked and lived on that farm while working at the local garage door company.  In all these years, I learned about the door industry, the construction trades and people.

In the year 1999, it seemed like a good time to semi-retire.  So, I quit my job and started my own small garage door company.  Also as a licensed contractor, I thought to slow down and serve my friends and family.

LaRoy Door and Contracting has grown and expanded with many employees and a small fleet of trucks, we moved off the farm and into the city of Monroe, MI.  So, now with a large warehouse and showroom we are able to better serve and do more.  We pride ourselves in being the most professional and experienced door company in South Eastern Michigan.

So yes, we have changed a lot over these years and will continue to move forward and grow.  But there are things that will not change; we have committed ourselves to serve.  Whether it be a builder/developer, home owner or commercial business- we will stand behind our service and products.  Our goal is to serve God and serve our customers with honesty and integrity.

I hope this short note will explain who we are and where we come from.  It is also my hope that you will sense the pride I have our company and in our people.
